Rewards and benefits

  • Childcare Vouchers

    Childcare Vouchers

We are pleased to offer a flexible way to meet the cost of childcare, where colleagues can exchange a portion of their salary for a variety of Childcare Vouchers. Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance contributions and therefore represent a saving for colleagues who receive them as part of their total reward package.

  • Cycle to work scheme

    Cycle to work scheme

We have a Cycle to Work benefit in place to give everyone a chance to hire a brand-new bike and cycling equipment from MiHomecare. This is a salary sacrifice scheme, and you can therefore save money on tax and National Insurance as well as choosing a greener way to travel to work.

  • Our policies

    Our policies

We have a wide range of comprehensive policies to help colleagues who may need some extra support at various times in their life, covering areas such as maternity leave, parental leave and flexible working practices.

  • Pensions

Pension is an important part of our total reward package and a profound way to help colleagues to plan for their future. Government rules mean that MiHomecare will automatically enrol colleagues into the pension when they meet certain conditions. Colleagues don't have to wait to be automatically enrolled; they can join and get the benefit of MiHomecare contributions at any time.

  • Refer a friend scheme

    Refer a friend scheme

We have a refer a friend scheme in place which gives colleagues the opportunity to refer friends or family members for opportunities we have across our businesses and earn themselves £250. Colleagues can make unlimited referrals subject to certain criteria.

  • High five awards

    High five awards

Our success is founded on the effectiveness of those colleagues who deliver our services to our clients, and those colleagues who support our work in our central functions. Our High Five Awards recognise those colleagues who go above and beyond the call of duty.

  • Guaranteed hours

    Guaranteed hours

We offer colleagues the opportunity to participate in our guaranteed hours contracts, which gives colleagues the opportunity to work guaranteed weekly hours up to 35 hours per week, subject to terms and conditions.

  • Free training & development

    Free training & development

We offer extensive training and development, to give you the tools you need to do your job role successfully, or progress your career prospects. In addition, we assist colleagues with the opportunity to undertake work based qualifications and apprenticeships to develop their skills within the care industry.

Recruitment Process

Would you like to be given the chance to shine? At MiHomecare we operate a fair and open recruitment process that gives you lots of opportunity to demonstrate your skills and personality. We welcome applications from all age groups, and a professional attitude is much more important than formal qualifications.

How to apply

Our recruitment process is straightforward and consists of 5 stages:

Once you have found a job vacancy at MiHomecare which is right for you, please submit your CV online via the application link. Should you experience any difficulty submitting your CV or have a general recruitment enquiry, please contact your local branch

Telephone interview

Once shortlisted, our Recruiter will contact you so you can take part in a short telephone interview. This will be an opportunity for you to tell us more about yourself and to answer some questions based around your work experience and competency for the role. Your suitability for the role will be evaluated against criteria such as tone of voice, enthusiasm and communication skills. If you’re successful after this stage, you’ll be invited along to meet the hiring manager.

Formal interview

This is your time to shine. At the interview, you’ll meet with the Recruiter and Hiring Manager responsible for the branch or department where you’ll be working. You’ll be taken through a competency-based interview which is focused on our Values and Behaviours and how you have demonstrated them in previous roles, using the STAR technique. After your interview, you’ll be provided with feedback on how you performed throughout the interview, which may lead to a conditional job offer being made to you.

Some management and support vacancies may also require additional activities such as group exercises, preparing an individual presentation and/or psychometric testing.

Pre-employment screening

Once you have successfully passed our interview process, our pre-employment screening process must be completed before we can confirm your start date. References will be required from you covering a 3-year period. To speed the process up for you, it’s always advisable to contact your referees in advance to let them know that MiHomecare will be in touch to obtain an employment reference.

In addition, MiHomecare will undertake and pay for an enhanced DBS check as part of the pre-employment screening process.

Induction training

Once we’ve completed your pre-employment screening, you’ll be invited to attend induction training which will provide you with the skills and mandatory training required to function competently in your role.
